Our Keystone, Colorado Snowmobiles
Choosing the Right Snowmobile for Your Breckenridge, Colorado Tour or Rental
You’ll want to consider several factors when choosing a machine for your tour. Please read our brief overview below and check out the details of each snowmobile. If you plan on carrying a passenger, be sure to look at the combined weight limit. If you have questions, or you’re not quite sure which sled to choose, give us a call. We want you to have the best possible experience!
Drivers and Passengers
A driver must be at least 14 years old with a driver’s learning permit in order to drive a full-sized snowmobile. You must have a valid driver’s license and be 18 or over if you want to carry passengers. If you have small children, they must be old enough to sit behind the driver and hold on by themselves. Larger children (up to two) can ride behind the adult on one of our 3-seater snowmobiles, as long as they can hold on for the whole tour.
Engine Type and Performance
If you’re looking for performance, consider a two-stroke engine. These engines have a great power-to-weight ratio and a quick throttle response that provide thrilling rides, but are a bit noisy, have a smoky exhaust, and require a pull-start. If you want a smoother ride, cleaner and more quiet exhaust, and the convenience of push button starting, then choose a sled with a four-stroke engine.
Want a warmer, more comfortable ride? Then examine the snowmobile’s “extra features” description: most have heated foot and hand warmers, while our Arctic Cat models have heated seats, too. Make your choices based on the type of experience you want to have. Again, if you have questions, give us a call!
